Ijen crater is located on top of Mount Ijen is one of a chain of volcanoes in East Java as Bromo, Semeru, and Merapi. Mount Ijen is located to the East of Mount Merapi (in East Java is also the mountain that has the same name as the mountain in Central Java, Mount Merapi). The tourist area of Ijen crater or the nature reserve Park Tours is located in Kecamatan Ijen slick, and Banyuwangi Districts Klobang, Bondowoso.
Mount Ijen or more known with the Ijen crater, is one of the mountains that are still active today. Has altitude 2.443 m from sea level, Caldera-wall as high as 300-500 m long and has 4 times erupted in 1796, 1817, 1913 and 1936.
Ijen volcano complex is one of the crater of Ijen and high plains. This area is located in three districts namely Bondowoso and Situbondo, Banyuwangi.
In the area of the volcano are sulfur mining, which indicates it is still active and moving. While in the Ijen crater, visitors can watch the miners busy carrying piles of sulfur on their backs, walking along the steep streets and filled with toxic gases which are harmful.
Ijen crater is the largest crater lake in the world, which can produce 36 million cubic meters of hydrogen chloride and sulfur with an area of approximately acres. 5.466. The dangerous crater has very outstanding beauty with green sulfur toska Lake with a touch of elegant and dramatic. Ijen has lake acidity degree zero and has a depth of 200 meters. A very strong Keasamannya can dissolve human fingers and clothes.

For those who like to adventure, to reach Mount Ijen can be accessed from two directions, i.e. from the North and from the South. From the North, could have traveled through the Situbondo to Sempol (Bondowoso) through School and the trip is continued to Paltuding. The distance Paltuding to Situbondo about 93 Miles and can be ditemput about 2.5 hours. A lot of natural beauty if this line goes through, the thermal baths, Blawan waterfall, Dhamar and Wulan.

From the South, can be traversed from Banyuwangi to the Slick which is 15 km. from the Slick towards Paltuding is 18 Km and carried on a Jeep or other heavy car about 6 Km before to Paltuding. This is because roads are winding and uphill.
